As students of Fontbonne Hall, a college preparatory school for young women, we believe that an intrinsic understanding of social justice and peace comes from an awareness of global issues and a desire to create a better world. Inspired by the film Pay it Forward, the class of 2014 ("ONE-4") decided to start a movement of their own.
Through the use of networking, social media, and word of mouth, 123 students and faculty are encouraged to promote awareness for a project that not only upholds the educational purpose of our institution, but in accord with teachings of human dignity, tells these students that ANYTHING is possible! Through small acts of kindness, they CAN make a difference in the lives of others. The bracelets simply serve as a reminder of this message!
On May 2, 2013 400 blue and grey bracelets were happily received at Fontbonne! Each student was given 3 bracelets to kick off the project.
1. Momento for students to keep
**2. Promote awareness for the project
**3. Caught being good (An individual caught doing an act of kindness or charity)
**If you received a bracelet, you exemplify an individual willing to go that extra mile for someone else! We commend you and rely on your kindness and generosity to pass this project on! Your job now is to RETURN THE FAVOR--> give the bracelet to someone you 'catch being good'!
